Orioles Should Spend Big

I'm now convinced that this is the time for the Orioles to lay out big bucks on at least one big-time free agent, and I haven't said that in years. The sample pool on Buck is large enough to say that this team has a chance to be competitive next year. I'm not saying playoffs, but .500 is totally realistic, and that's the first step. You figure catcher, 2B, RF, CF are all set.  That leaves LF, 1B, SS and 3B as areas where they can improve.  I wouldn't say replace all those positions, but if there is an opportunity to really upgrade in LF, then do it and make Pie your 4th OF. I'm not convinced Bell is going to be great, so if you can get great at 3B, do it. I'm okay with some of these guys coming back, but I think this is the year to go drop $80 or $100 mil on a player if he's out there or available via trade.
