Orioles make some moves

After last night's 13-inning see-saw marathon that ended in an 11-10 victory for the Orioles over Tampa Bay -- thanks to Julio Lugo's RBI single -- the orange and black end the three-game series today looking for the series win over the second place Rays.  Before the start of the game, however, the Orioles made some changes to their roster.

Closer Mike Gonzalez -- remember him? -- was reinstated from the disabled list after missing nearly the entire season (April 10) with a strained left shoulder. That move was actually the corresponding move from yesterday's transaction when Chris Tillman returned to Triple-A Norfolk. Josh Bell will join Tillman as he was send back down to Norfolk this morning and left-handed pitcher Troy Patton was recalled. Right-hander Jim Johnson was then moved to the 60-day Disabled List.

"It feels like its been two years or so since I've been in the big league clubhouse," Gonzalez said. "I've been ready, chomping at the bit and just ready to be here.

"Physically I've been good," Gonzalez added. "The tough thing for me was the mental... trying not to get too frustrated or anxious to get back up here.  It took a little patience... it was more of a time factor and just being patient with it.

"My shoulder feels a lot better now so I'm looking forward to going out there and showing what I can do."

Note: Kevin Millwood is due to come off the DL tomorrow and Matt Wieters on Sunday.
