BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Matt Wieters and Jonathan Schoop each knocked in a home run as the Baltimore Orioles took down the Toronto Blue Jays 11-6 on Sunday afternoon.
The Orioles got things started in the bottom of the first inning when Chris Davis hit an RBI single to center field to get the O's on the board. Then a few moments later, Matt Wieters hit a two-run blast to give Baltimore a 3-0 lead.
Toronto answered back with four unanswered runs before Baltimore got things going again. In fact, the Orioles responded with five unanswered runs of their own.
Ryan Flaherty hit an RBI single in the second inning to tie things up at 4-4. Jonathan Schoop and Jones both hit RBI singles in the fourth while Flaherty hit an RBI double to keep his hot streak going.
In the 5th inning, Matt Wieters drove Chris Davis in for a score with a base hit to make it 8-4. The Blue Jays were able to drive in two runs in the 7th to make things interesting before the Orioles put the game out of reach with three runs, which included a two-run bomb by Jonathan Schoop.
The Orioles will play a make-up game against the Texas Rangers on Monday with Kevin Gausman (0-4 4.14 ERA) as he continues to search for his first win of the season.
