Opportunity Lost!

It was stunning to see how few Ravens players seized the opportunity vs. the Rams to shine and maybe earn a roster spot.  It also tells you the difference between starters, back-ups and everyone else.  The list of players who didn't step up was surprising. Troy Smith, who some say is a starting caliber QB, should have shredded the Rams defense. Sure he made some good plays, but is far too inconsistent throwing the ball. For all the buzz about Jason Phillips, you have to be able to cover, and he couldn't. Cary Williams stepped back after earlier being impressive. Prince Miller--muffing punts costs football games. Ken Hamlin--nice arm tackle!  If nothing else, the Rams game proved 4 exhibition games is too many.
