On The Ravens Case: Dolphins - Ravens keys to the game

Here are few things to watch for today when the Baltimore Ravens host the Miami Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium.

No Repeat

Fabian Washington, Lardarius Webb, Ed Reed, and Dawan Landry, will be tested early and often today by Chad Henne and the Dolphins passing attack. After seeing what Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills did against this secondary, I am sure that Henne can not wait to try to air it out with Brandon Marshall and Devon Bess running down the field.

The secondary has to send a message early that what happened against the Bills is not going to get repeated today, or else the Ravens could be in for another long day on defense.

Keep Joe Standing

Joe Flacco has been on a nice roll as of late for the Ravens. Since week three of the season, he has the highest passer rating in the NFL. Today, he could have opportunities to add to that number against the Dolphins secondary. Vontae Davis and Sean Smith will have the task of trying to contain Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason of the Ravens.

The biggest key for Flacco is giving him time to throw the football. Marshal Yanda and Michael Oher will have their hands full today dealing with Cameron Wake and Koa Misi, who lead the Dolphins defensive line.

Protect Your House

Much has been made about the Dolphins coming to M&T Bank Stadium undefeated on the road this year, and you could make the argument that of those four wins, only one was against a team with a winning record. However, for the Ravens they have won 6 straight games in Baltimore, and I am sure want to extend that in front of fans who were very disappointed with a win back in week 7.

Keep It Close

Not only is it surprising that the Dolphins are 4-0 on the road this year, but also how they have been outscored in the second-half of football games. In quarters one and two, the Dolphins have outscored their opponents 72- 64. However, in the second half the Dolphins have given up 85 points while only scoring 61.

They are a team that has hung around in games and found away to win some, including all of them on the road.

I look for the Ravens to win today, and run their consecutive win streak at home to 7 games.

Ravens 33- Dolphins 20
