O'Malley Names Danette Howard To Education Post
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Danette Howard has been named Maryland's secretary of higher education.
Gov. Martin O'Malley made the announcement on Thursday.
Howard has been serving as the interim secretary since August.
She has spent her entire professional career in higher education. She worked as a researcher and policy analyst at the
University of Maryland College Park.
She also worked on the Race, Equity and Diversity in the South Project, which examined trends in postsecondary enrollments and completion rates and faculty hiring and promotions.
