O'Malley, Busch, Miller To Talk Special Session
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley is scheduled to meet with the Legislature's presiding officers about holding a special session.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday in Annapolis with House Speaker Michael Busch and Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller.
O'Malley noted the meeting in a letter to Miller on Friday.
O'Malley is considering when to hold a special session to repair the state budget after lawmakers failed to pass a revenue package that was needed to avoid about a half a billion dollars in cuts.
O'Malley has said he wants to hold a special session. But he wants to meet only after the House and Senate reach a consensus on
the revenue package, which included income tax increases for people who make more than 100,000 a year.
