The shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon when the officers observed "suspicious activity" in a van with three men inside. Police say that when the officers got out of their unmarked vehicle to investigate, the van's driver put the car in reverse, injuring one officer's leg. Police say both officers opened fire, striking the driver in the neck. His injuries aren't life-threatening, police say.

All three men inside the van were taken into custody and are awaiting charges.

The Special Investigation Response Team is investigating the incident.
