No Charges on Ben; Ravens Screwed?
'We do not prosecute morals. We prosecute crimes,' said Georgia DA Fred Bright regarding Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.
We may never really know what actually happened between Big Ben and the drunk 20-year-old. All parties involved admit that the victim was 'highly intoxicated' and that she and Ben engaged in conversations of a 'sexual nature.' The DA said he could not 'prove beyond a reasonable doubt' that a sexual assault occurred.
Ravens will be forced to beat Big Ben & The Steelers on the football field this fall now that the GA DA has decided not to press charges and the infamous 'small, dingy bathroom' has been cleaned. And, that is a shame, of sorts, because Baltimore had home-field advantage for this drama.
It seems that Georgia District Attorney Fred Bright is a Baltimorean. He grew up here. But, went to college in Georgia where he met his wife and settled. Mr. Bright must be a man of high integrity...and, an original Colts fan.
Oh, well. Ravens fans can always hope for the 'NFL Suspension' that looms.
