New Search To Find Missing Teen Comes Up Short

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A new tip police received in the disappearance of Phylicia Barnes comes up short.

Kelly McPherson reports police looked for Phylicia Barnes all night, but that search came up with nothing.

FBI agents, police and fire department spent all night searching behind a home looking for Barnes.

"We are waiting on the equipment to drain the well and check out this tip," said Anthony Guglielmi, Baltimore City Police.

The focus was an abandoned sewer well inside a shed. This is the latest attempt to locate Barnes. She has been missing since December. She was last seen alive at her sister's apartment. Police found no signs of the honor student, despite several massive searches and FBI testing.

"We have been working this for 23 days, following every lead, searching areas. We have searched Leakin Park, searched dumpsters, hospitals, homeless shelters, you name it," said Guglielmi.

Dozens of people were in and out of the apartment before the disappearance. This is the most specific location searched so far in the investigation.

Police would not say if this tip came from the hotline or from an interview.
