Motorcycle Driver Flees Police, Dies In Crash
CABIN JOHN, Md. (AP) -- Police say a 27-year-old man driving a motorcycle who led authorities in a pursuit has died after crashing along the Clara Barton Parkway in Maryland's Montgomery County.
The Washington Post reports that Javier Garamendi Iniguez of Springfield, Virginia was thrown over the parkway's jersey wall in Cabin John near the Capital Beltway on Thursday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Virginia State Police say they were pursuing a motorcycle driver but had lost sight of him and passed the information to troopers in Maryland.
Shortly after receiving that information, the Maryland State Police said the motorcycle's driver lost control and was ejected. The motorcycle kept running and hit another vehicle. Iniguez's body was found under a ramp.
Virginia troopers did not say why they were initially pursuing Iniguez.
