Motor Trend Car Show Heads To Charm City!

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Start your engines, Baltimore! The Motor Trend Car Show is coming to Charm City this week.

Monique Griego has a sneak peek as the vendors get ready for the show.

Whether you're looking for a new car or just want to feel the leather in your dream car, the Baltimore Convention Center will have what you need.

Engines are running at the Baltimore Convention Center as automakers gear up for the 2013 Motor Trend International Auto Show.

"They're putting up the kits, the stands, the displays and they're moving in the vehicles, polishing them and waxing them," said spokesperson Shelbi Okumura.

The expo will have hundreds of domestic and import autos on display. In the showroom, you'll find hybrids, the latest in SUVs and even some flashy sports cars.

"It actually gives all the customers a chance to see all the cars in one place instead of having to shop around," said Lee Smith.

But if touching and sitting in your favorite ride aren't enough, the Jeep off-road track lets you ride along through an obstacle course with a professional driver. Other members are letting you hit the road.

"So you can take your experience from the show floor and go outside and test drive and feel some of these vehicles," Okumura said.

Getting the vehicles ready for their debut are a team of detailers---really the first attendees to get a peek at the show.

"I'm into Toyotas a lot so this is my section right here," said Basel Naanaa, Empire Auto.

In addition to the newer cars, detailers will also be prepping a collection of rare vintage models.

Jesse Carter says it's everything an auto enthusiast needs.

"And I'm looking for a car, too, so I'm, like, in heaven right now," Carter said.

The car show starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Kids six and under are admitted free to the car show; adults, it will cost you $10. Sunday is family day and kids under 12 get in free.
