Mid-Atlantic Students Receive 2010 Siemens Awards
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Siemens Foundation has announced the names of students in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia who won the 2010 Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement.
In Maryland, the winners are Shilpa Kannan of Potomac and Alexander Tao Zhu of Rockville. The Delaware winners are SangYeop Lee of Middletown and Alice Miao of Wilmington. Virginia's winners are Stephanie Marzen and Sin Kim, both of McLean.
The award, established in 1998, recognizes top achievers in Advanced Placement Program science and math courses. The top students -- potentially a boy and a girl from each state -- receive a $2,000 college scholarship.
