Metro: Cracked Rail Repaired On Red Line

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says workers have repaired a cracked rail on the red line and delays should dissipate as rush hour winds down.

Trains were using just one track for a time Wednesday morning after a crack was discovered in the electrified third rail near the Rhode Island Avenue station. Metro says both tracks are back in use between the NoMa-Gallaudet and Fort Totten stations, but customers could experience some delays before service returns to normal.
