Md. Teacher Pleads Guilty To Sex Abuse Charge
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A high school teacher and coach has pleaded guilty to sex abuse of a minor.
Steven Mark Kiggins, 43, of Hebron entered the plea Monday in Wicomico County Circuit Court and was sentenced to four years in prison.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Kiggins was a teacher and head volleyball coach at Wicomico High School. He also coached girls' tennis and indoor track. Local school officials said in January he was removed from the classroom.
The victim said she was between 16 and 17 when she and the coach had sex in a classroom about once a week.
