Md. Middle Schoolers To Get Recess
NEWARK, Md. (AP) -- The principal of Pocomoke Middle School says fourth- and fifth-graders will get daily recess after the Worcester County approved a policy requiring it.
Caroline Bloxom expected to schedule daily recess for the school's younger students shortly after they return to class on Jan. 3.
Todd Palmer, the parent of a Pocomoke Middle fourth-grader, and other parents approached the school board because their 9- and 10-year-olds did not have daily recess.
The school will be monitored to make sure recess is a success.
