Md. Man Extradited To Fla. For 2001 Homicide
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (AP) -- A Maryland man arrested in connection with a 2001 homicide in Florida has been extradited to Charlotte County.
A sheriff's office report says David Ray McMannis, 39, of Cumberland, Md., was sent back on Sunday morning after signing a waiver of extradition. He's being held in the county jail without bond. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
McMannis was arrested last month on a first-degree murder charge. Authorities are still looking for Phillip Gavin Barr. Detectives say Barr, 43, owned a septic system repair company, and he and McMannis were at the Punta Gorda home of Tara Danielle Sidarovich doing work the day she disappeared in 2001. The 19-year-old's skeleton was found in a patch of woods.
