Md. Man Allegedly Drove Truck Into Crowd; 4 Hit

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a man deliberately drove his truck into a crowd of people at a Frederick County drag strip and hit four of them.

Police say one man was treated at a hospital for injuries caused by Justin Wachter of Poolesville.

Troopers arrested Wachter, 25, on Saturday. He faces numerous assault charges in the incident Saturday at the 75-80 Dragway in Monrovia.

One of the victims tells The Frederick News-Post he was in an altercation with Wachter a year earlier at the speedway. He says he thinks Wachter targeted him and his brother, who was also hurt.

Wachter didn't immediately return a message left at his home answering machine by The Associated Press seeking comment on the charges.
