Matusz pitched well... again

Brian Matusz once again pitched well enough to win against a tough lineup. Unfortunately, the Orioles offense couldn't muster any runs against the tough AJ Burnett who entered the game with a record of 2-0 and and ERA of 3.20.

Over six innings, Matusz allowed nine hits and three runs, all earned, but didn't allow a walk. He recorded two strikeouts and threw a total of 96 pitches, 66 for strikes.

Before the start of the game, Dave Trembley talked about the makeup of the young Matusz... saying he's "mature beyond his time." Trembley also called Matusz a "special guy" and said he's young so he's still learning but he's fun to have on his team.

The Yankees took 2-of-3 from the Orioles... the O's now face the Red Sox for a three-game series at Camden.
