Maryland Extends Home Performance Rebate Program
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Energy Administration is adding $850,000 to the state's home performance rebate program.
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown made the announcement on Thursday.
The program offers a 35 percent rebate on certain home energy efficiency upgrades.
The administration says the program has spurred nearly $3 million of private investment in home energy efficiency upgrades in seven months.
The program has been funded by federal stimulus money. Nearly 1,000 state residents have participated, and have received an average rebate of $1,529.
