Man Who Attacked Teen Campers Sentenced

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Prosecutors say a man who terrorized four teenage campers in the spring has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

George Carroll was sentenced on Monday in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Carroll is one of three men charged in an incident in April at a primitive campsite along the Monocacy River near Tuscarora.

The victims -- two girls and two boys, ages 15 to 17 -- told police that the defendants, who were camping nearby, threatened them with machetes and a baseball bat and took their money.
