Man Gets 30 Years For Assaulting Sun Paper Editor With Brick

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The man who assaulted an editor for The Baltimore Sun with a brick learns his fate.

Mustafa Eraibi receives a 30 year sentence, with all but 12 years suspended.

Eraibi was convicted of attempted first-degree murder in the January 14 attack on Foster Avenue in Canton.

Eraibi walked up to Jonathan Fogg and asked for a cigarette before throwing him to the ground and smashing his head with a landscaping brick.

He then took Fogg's car, leaving him lying there bleeding from the head.

Once the 18 years are served, Eraibi will be on supervised probation for five years and pay $4,000 in restitution.

Police tracked down Eraibi through charges he made on Fogg's stolen credit cards.
