Man Pleads Guilty To Killing His Grandparents

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Prosecutors say a man charged with killing his grandparents in the Pikesville home he shared with them has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the slayings.

Matthew Long, 33, entered the plea Thursday in Baltimore County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Vaughn George Pepper, 87, and Marjorie Marie Pepper, 85, were found dead in their home Sept. 10, 2012. Baltimore County Police said the weapons used to kill the Peppers were a pair of 20-pound dumbbells and a knife.

Long was found the next day in a motel room in Weatherford, Okla., after an apparent suicide attempt.
