Man Charged With Cutting Girlfriend In The Neck
VALLEY LEE, Md. (AP) -- The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office says a man has been charged with attempted murder after his girlfriend was found with a severe cut on her neck.
Deputies were called to the woman's home in Valley Lee about 2 a.m. Thursday. The victim was on the ground with a severe laceration to her neck. She was taken to a trauma center; her condition is unknown.
Police say the woman had an argument over the phone with her boyfriend, 31-year-old Patrick James Hutching of Leonardtown. Deputies say Hutching went to her home and later called someone to say he had hurt her.
Hutching was arrested at a relative's house.
Deputies say Hutching had been charged with assaulting his girlfriend on Nov. 13 and was released on bond a few days later.
