UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A man convicted of a fatal shooting during a robbery is being sentenced in Prince George's County.

Dominic Givens is scheduled for sentencing on Friday after being convicted of first-degree murder last month in the death of Marvin Tomlinson.

The shooting took place in November 2011.

Prosecutors say Givens was part of a group of men who jumped out of a minivan and began to rob Tomlinson and four teenage boys.

Prosecutors say Tomlinson told the boys to run as he was being pistol-whipped. The teenagers ran away, but Tomlinson was killed.
