Is That The Smell Of Fear?

...maybe I'm amazed at the way you ______________? ( send me so many e-mails littered with fear and angst over the upcoming NFL draft!)

Ravens Nation be healed! Relax! Calm down! Breath in the air people. All is well and well-handled out on One Winning Drive. When the bell rings on Thursday night, the Ravens will answer and do what they do best - make solid decisions at the point-of-attack. Are they perfect? Nope! Are they close? Yup! Is that good enough for me? Yup!

Good enough for you?

So many of you seem worried about this years first round pick...why? The 2010 draft is deep. Solid players at DL, OL, S, OLB and CB. Sleepers everywhere. Solid character choices everywhere. This organization wont whiff with this type of board...stacked Ravens style. I promise.

While I do believe the Ravens will be busy this week...up to and including Draft Day...Im not worried about the player they'll land in the opening round or the lack of picks they have to spend this season.

Lets take a look at past 1st Round selections shall we...

...Ogden, Ray Lewis, Boulware, Starks, McAlister, Jamal Lewis, Travis Taylor, Heap, Reed, Suggs, Boller, Clayton, Ngata, Grubbs, Flacco, Oher!!!

Umm, sorry - I'm not going to panic or worry. In Ozzie & Company I trust.

Oh, wait...but the Ravens only have five picks this year. Will  it effect the way they stack the board and do business? Well, in 1999 they ended up with four picks and landed a haul of McAlister, Stokley, Mulitalo and took a chance on a great kid - Anthony Poindexter (UVA). Am I worried about the Ravens playing with a five-card deck? Nope!

I think the Ravens would love to move Gaither, McGahee and even Mark Clayton this week. Grabbing some extra picks in the transactions.

Regardless of where they pick, how many picks they have and all the picks stockpiled in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Cincy...Thursday night is another chance for the Ravens to show why they are winners. They're ready. Dont push the panic button peeps...
