Is That All There Is?

Interesting twist in the Great Conference Shuffle of 2010.
It may be over.
Monday night, the Commissioner of the Pac10 announced that Texas had turned down an offer to join. Not long after, Texas released a statement saying it intended to remain in the Big 12. This is huge news.
After losing Colorado and Nebraska late last week, the Big 12 figured to dissolve right before our very eyes. Now, it looks like exactly what it is: a conference that lost two members. Meanwhile, sources in College Park say that Maryland is leaning heavily toward staying in the ACC, this in the wake of rumors about an overture from the Big 10.
It seems that staying put is preferable to the greener grass on the other side of the fence.
I could be wrong here, but it looks as if the Great Conference Shuffle of 2010 was more of a firecracker than a bombshell.
