If the Game Really Counts...

Then the managers need to manage like it counts.  In last nights MLB All Star Game, both managers are trying so hard to make sure all their players get in the game, that they have no bench at the end of the game.  In the bottom of the 9th inning, David Ortiz led off the inning  with a base hit.  In a regular season game he would've immediately been pinch run for.  Unfortunately, manager Joe Girardi only had Alex Rodriguez left on his bench, and he was saving him (for what I dont know).  Ortiz ends up geeting put out on what should've been a basehit to rightfield but instead became a 9-6 force out.  I think the idea that the game counts is a joke, but if we are going to make it count, please send the managers a memo reminding them of this.
