Hitch In His Giddy-up
Luke Scott had a terrific night 3 walks and his 12th HR were part of the Orioles 5th win in 6 games. It was all good until Scott rounded first on his homer and his hammy opted out for the rest of the journey. Luke dragged himself around the bases, but it wasn't pretty. If you've ever had a hamstring injury (and I have) you know the feeling and the immediate reaction as you reach down and grab the injured wheel.
The initial report called it a strained hamstring, but Scott was on crutches after the game and expects to land on the DL. Hamstring injuries can be tricky and often reoccurring. You don't see many guys get injured when they hit home runs, the long ball rewards you with what's supposed to be a leisurely trip home.
At least Luke fared better than the Angels Kendry Morales who hit a grand slam and ended his season breaking his ankle when he hit home plate. 2010 the year of the dangerous Home Run.
And God Bless Ty Wigginton his long ball ended the 76 homerless games by Orioles first baseman. Gentile, Boog, Eddie, Raffy, Huff where art thou?
Talk to you on The Fan, Scott
