Grilled Cheese & Co. Serves Up Comfort Food To Support Armed Forces

CATONSVILLE, Md. (WJZ)--It's the ultimate comfort food and a Baltimore company serves them up at four locations. This week they're reaching out to help members of the Armed Forces.

Ron Matz has the cheese connection from Catonsville.

Let's cut to the chase. There's nothing better than a good grilled cheese, especially in Catonsville.

"It can be a morning, afternoon or evening thing. A grilled cheese is comfort food that makes you feel good when you eat it. It's just great," said Chris Stilling, owner of Catonsville Car Care Center.

You'll feel good this week checking out Grilled Cheese & Co. at all four locations; 15 percent of the sales will go to the Armed Forces Foundation.

"Grilled Cheese & Co. moved in here about four years ago. It's a great place to eat. Grilled cheese is for anytime day and night," Stilling said.

"In all, four stores through Thursday we'll be giving back 15 percent of our total sales back to the Armed Forces Foundation. My partner, Victor Corbi, came up with the idea. We just decided that, especially with the problems with the VA, we needed to support the troops," said James Lancelotta, co-owner of Grilled Cheese & Co.

They've got 11 different sandwiches here. Soups too. If you like grilled cheese, you'll find it here.

"It's good comfort food. Everybody grew up eating grilled cheese. They remember their mom making it. I remember coming home on a cold fall day and mom would always have a grilled cheese ready to go. It was the perfect lunch," Lancelotta said.

The number one seller here at Grilled Cheese & Co. is the crabby melt.

"Our number one seller is the crabby melt. We're a bunch of Maryland boys. When we were tying to figure out different kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches. We decided to come up with a crab dip and Monterrey jack cheese, and it's our best seller," Lancelotta said.

And they'll be selling specially branded bottled water too. They're on a mission helping the men and women in uniform.

"We co-branded bottles of water with the Armed Forces Foundation. About 15 cents of every bottle of "On A Mission" water that we sell will go to the foundation for the next couple of months," Lancelotta said.

Proceeds from the sale of bottled water will also go to the Armed Forces Foundation which returns 95 cents of every dollar raised to service members.
