Gov. Hogan Attends Farm Event, Cancer Research Fundraiser

THURMONT, Md. (AP) -- After battling cancer for months, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan made a public appearance in seemingly high spirits at a Frederick County corn maze event benefiting cancer research.

Hogan says he recently finished his final round of treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is feeling stronger every day. Hogan on Sunday was attending the second annual Lawyer's Farm Fall Fundraiser in Thurmont benefiting the American Cancer Society.

The fundraiser featured a corn maze in the shape of Hogan's face and the phrase, "#HoganStrong."

The event was planned in memory of Jan Lawyer, who died from brain cancer almost two years ago. Lawyer's daughter, Taylor Huffman, says her fundraising goal this year is $15,000. Last year, the event raised nearly $12,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association.
