Frederick County Sheriff's Deputy Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In New Market While Responding To Call

FREDERICK, Md. (WJZ) -- A Frederick County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Monday morning.

According to the sheriff's office, the crash happened near the 6100 block of Green Valley Road in New Market around 10:45 a.m.

The deputy was responding to a vehicle incident near the 11500 block of Old Annapolis Road in Libertytown. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office says the deputy was in good spirits but has back and leg pain.

Route 75 was shut down while police investigated the crash, but since then all lanes have been reopened.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and was medically cleared on scene. The office at this time is not releasing the deputy's name.

The crash is under investigation.
