Frederick County, Md., Cuts Fire-And-Rescue Jobs
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County government is cutting seven management jobs in fire-and-rescue services.
The county commissioners announced the cuts Monday to save $670,000 annually beginning with the fiscal year starting in July.
Board President Blaine Young says the commissioners also are considering eliminating 34 vacant positions as part of a reorganization of the fire-and-rescue division.
The division currently provides 375 jobs, including the vacant positions.
