Former UMBC Employee Pleads Guilty To Theft
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Maryland attorney general's office says a former University of Maryland, Baltimore County employee has pleaded guilty to stealing $9,800 from the school so he could buy rugs for his home.
The office says Francis Nunoo-Quarcoo, the former director of the university's visual arts department, created fake invoices and used the money to buy rugs for his Catonsville home. As director, Nunoo-Quarcoo had the authority to approve the invoices.
Nunoo-Quarcoo is scheduled to be sentenced May 25.
