First Warning WX: Tracking Tropical Storm Grace

BALTIMORE (WJZ)–The First Warning WX team is tracking Tropical Storm Grace.

Update, September 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m.: Tropical Storm Grace is currently moving west at 14 mph. Over the next 1 to 2 days, Grace is forecast to move through a low vertical wind shear environment with sea surface temperatures sufficiently warm for strengthening. The NWS says once Grace crosses over the Caribbean Sea it will likely weaken.

Update, September 5, 2015, 11:00 p.m.: Tropical Storm Grace is moving toward the west near 14 and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph with higher gusts. Some additional strengthening is expected during the next day or so, with weakening possible by Monday.

Update, September 5, 2015, 8:00 p.m.: Tropical Storm Grace is currently moving west with winds at 40mph. The National Weather Service says Grace should intensify during the next 24 to 36 hours.

Grace is the 7th tropical storm of the season to form over the far Eastern Atlantic.
