Fire At Md. Apartment Complex Displaces Residents
ADELPHI, Md. (AP) -- Residents of an Adelphi apartment complex have been displaced following a fire in the building.
Prince George's fire department spokesman Mark Brady says two people who were inside the apartment where the blaze started sustained minor burn injuries during Wednesday night's fire.
Brady says three firefighters were also injured. One had respiratory injuries, another suffered minor burns and the third suffered an ankle injury.
Firefighters also had to rescue people from the building using a ladder. Some of the residents were rescued from balconies.
Brady says the fire burned for about 20 to 30 minutes before firefighters from Prince George's and Montgomery counties put out the flames. He says the building had about 40 apartments and 101 occupants.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
