Fans Say There's No Stopping Dem O's, Hon! Orioles Advance As ALCS Favorite

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—There's no stopping the Orioles. After a hard-fought American League Division Series sweep against the Tigers, the birds are moving on the American League Championship Series.

The team returned to Baltimore Monday afternoon.

Marcus Washington reports it's another round of Orioles orange fever here in Maryland.

It's the first time the team has been to the ALCS since 1997, and O's fans could not be prouder of the team that seems to be unstoppable in the postseason.

There's no other way to describe the excitement in Charm City other than Orioles Magic.

In a three-game sweep, the Orioles beat the Tigers in Detroit, advancing to the ALCS series that starts Friday.

"They can hit the home run anytime, anywhere in any game—and that makes them a threat no matter what the situation is," said Jim Salisbury, Orioles fan.

With this major win in the bag, fans are confident that the O's will go all the way.

At watch parties and pep rallies across Maryland, it was all cheers and signs of motivation that are sure to continue as the O's take on Kansas City on Friday.

"I don't think negative thoughts. I've been a fan since I was a little kid and I say they go all the way," said Orangeman, avid fan.

Shortly after 3:40 Monday, players stepped off the bus to cheers from fans.

Vegas agrees. The Orioles are now 2-to-1 favorites to win the World Series, followed by the Dodgers and Giants, both listed at 7-to-2.

As the O-mazing Orioles head for the ALCS, our WJZ Fan Cam question is "Which Orioles player would you choose as the MVP of the ALDS?"
