Donte Stallworth Sincere?

Donte Stallworth made his much-anticipated Ravens/Baltimore-area debut yesterday at 'The Castle.'  The Ed Norris Show's Ken Weinman and I were at the press conference and got to speak briefly to Donte off-the-record after the event.  Don't worry - he'll be on the morning show real soon.

Ken is known as The Ed Norris Show's 'czar of sincerity.'  Ken has us all convinced that he is able to cut through celebrity confessions and define their degree of sincerity.  However, yesterday I took a personal view of Donte's situation and sincerity.  I have my opinions regarding his career and personal life.

By his own admission, Donte has not made the best decisions in life.  One decision ended with deadly consequences.  Trust me - That tragedy follows him like a shadow.  Regardless of whether the press is talking about it - whether fans heckle him in the future.  Even if no one ever mentions his accident again, Donte will never, ever forget it.  It will haunt him.

The courts, NFL, sponsors and fans have punished him.  And, Donte punishes himself.  Both sides of the accident have suffered irreversible pain.  Their lives will not be the same.  Fate has chosen Donte Stallworth as the one to get the second chance.

Donte has faced the family.  It was indicated that he came to some understanding with them.  Yesterday, Donte faced the media and answered all the questions.  I am not the show's 'czar'.  But, I'm pretty sure each day Donte faces Mario Reyes.
