Dog Deemed Too Nice For Police Work Gets Job He's More Suited For

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A police dog that enjoyed meeting strangers more than taking down criminals got a new job that he's more suited for.

Gavel has been named as a "Vice-Regal Dog" after police in Australia determined he "did not display the necessary aptitude for a life on the front line", according to the BBC.

Gavel's job will now be to welcome guests and tour groups to the grounds of Queensland's Government House.
