Dempsey has "great" Interview

Current MASN broadcaster and ex-Baltimore Oriole Rick Dempsey met with O's President of Baseball Operations Andy MacPhail today and came out of the meeting feeling pretty good about himself. Dempsey, who became the fourth person to discuss the O's managerial job, said the interview went "better than expected" although there's no "next step" in place.

"I thought it went really great. Better than good," Dempsey said. "I thought he asked me some great questions and I thought I answered them all very well. If they decide to go in another direction, I would at least hope the things I had to say will help this team and this organization in the future."

Dempsey met with MacPhail at 2pm for a little less than two hours, just a few hours after MacPhail reportedly once again met with ex-Indians manager Eric Wedge. Dempsey said MacPhail has other interviews to conduct and said the process had a "long way to go."

Dempsey was more than prepared for the meeting... he brought nearly 10 pages of notes filled with his ideas on how to improve the club and lists of things he's noticed throughout the season the team needs to work on. Dempsey said, however, he didn't  need to look at his notes once.

The managerial saga continues...
