Constellation To Provide Green Energy For Feds
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Constellation Energy says it has signed a 20-year contract to help the State Department meet federal green energy goals.
Baltimore-based Constellation says it will supply the State Department with electricity from a $50 million solar energy project it plans to build in New Jersey and a wind power project planned in Pennsylvania.
Constellation says it will supply the State Department, part of the White House campus and other federal facilities with an estimated 120,000 megawatts a year. The company says the solar panels will be built by a federal prison service that provides job skill training to inmates and market-priced goods for the federal government.
