Capital Gazette Names Steven Gunn New Editor

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Capital Gazette Communications, the publisher of The Capital newspaper in Annapolis and other papers, has named a new editor who currently works for The Charlotte Observer in North Carolina.

The Capital on Tuesday reported that Steve Gunn will oversee all of the company's news products including The Capital, the Maryland Gazette, the Crofton-West County Gazette, the Bowie Blade-News, Capital Style magazine and CapitalGazette.com.

Gunn is currently the director of strategic projects and audience development at The Charlotte Observer. He led the paper's multimedia coverage of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte last year, including the creation of a mobile app.

Gunn graduated from Parkdale High School in Prince George's County, has a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a master's degree from Columbia University.
