Building Begins For Md. Health Tech School
MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) -- Leaders of three community colleges are joining Maryland's two U.S. senators at the groundbreaking for a regional health-care training center in Mount Airy.
Rep. John Sarbanes of Maryland is also expected at the event Monday afternoon.
The Allied Healthcare Education Center is a partnership among Howard, Frederick and Carroll county community colleges. It received a million-dollar construction grant from the federal government.
The complex will train up to 500 students a year to alleviate a shortage of health-care workers in Maryland.
