ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A key Brazilian politician is visiting Maryland.
Sergio Cabral, the governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, is scheduled to join Gov. Martin O'Malley on Wednesday at a lunch in Annapolis. He'll also receive an official greeting at the State House and attend an afternoon reception at a restaurant.
The state of Rio de Janeiro is one of 10 foreign states with which Maryland enjoys a sister-state partnership. The partnerships are designed to promote and encourage international trade and cooperation.
