Boy In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Car
WALDORF, Md. (AP) — A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle.
The Charles County Sheriff's Department tells news outlets that the incident happened Sunday afternoon in Waldorf, Maryland.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle struck the boy as he crossed the street on his bike in a designated crosswalk. The boy was wearing a helmet and was in the company of his mother and friends.
The boy suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Officials say it's not immediately clear how the crash occurred. The incident remains under investigation.
