Blue Lobster Caught Off Maryland Coast On Display In D.C.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A rare blue lobster caught off the coast of Ocean City is now on display at the National Aquarium in Washington.
Aquarium officials say the blue lobster is a 1-in-2-million exception to the reddish-brown shade of most lobsters.
The lobster was caught in June by the crew of the Pot Luck fishing boat. The lobster, nicknamed Toby, was kept in a tank at Martin Fish Co. until it was turned over to aquarium staff.
Aquarium officials say the lobster is now on display in a tank along with three sea bass and a tautog in the recently renovated National Marine Sanctuaries exhibit.
