BLOG: Windy
The blizzard that is now burying areas from New Jersey to Boston this morning only delivered an inch or two to much of the Greater Baltimore Area yesterday... Since Atlantic City and Philadelphia have had an estimated 1-2 feet, you could say Maryland really "Dodged a Bullet"... But as the storm intensifies off the New England coast today, it will be windy here with some gusts of up to 40 mph in the WJZ viewing area... It still won't be a "pretty day".
While it'll still be blustery tomorrow, expect sunshine to return with most highs in the 30s... There will be even more of an uptick in temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday.
As a deep trough of low pressure manages to establish itself in the middle of the country late this week, a ridge of high pressure will strengthen along the East Coast Friday and Saturday (New Year's Eve and New Year's Day)... This will push most temperatures EVEN HIGHER... Don't be surprised if by NEXT Monday morning if we're talking about temperatures near or slightly above 50 degrees, and rain/melting snow that could result in flooding issues... At least
for the time being, this is the kind of "flip" in the pattern that we could see occurring here.
Have a good day!!
