BLOG: Warming Up
Warmer air is moving back into Maryland - at least temporarily.
We topped out at 53 degrees this afternoon. That is just shy of the current average, which is now 54 degrees. But a warm front is going to swing through the Mid-Atlantic overnight/early tomorrow morning, bringing in a new round of warm air. Clouds, patchy fog, and maybe even patchy drizzle in that fog will accompany the warm front late tonight and early tomorrow morning. Then clouds will mix with sunshine tomorrow afternoon. That's when temperatures will start to jump. We are going to top out close to 60 degrees tomorrow afternoon and then in the mid 60s Tuesday. Then, a new cold front will move our way.
The next storm will come through on Tuesday. Expect showers and maybe a thunderstorm when it moves through, followed by cooler air for the second half of the week. We will get a break on Wednesday with some sunshine before another storm comes our way Thursday into Friday. There will be some rain with that storm, yes, in time for a lot of the Thanksgiving travel. When it gets out of here, it will usher in even cooler air for next weekend. Highs will only be in the 40s with the chance of a few snow showers out west in the mountains.
