BLOG: Warm & Windy

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --  We will be able to squeeze out one last abnormally mild day Friday before a strong cold front moves across the area.

Highs Friday will approach record territory this afternoon, which is 75 from 1976.

There will be some sun shrouded by mostly high and mid-level clouds as broad warm advection remains across the region. The cold front should not get to the area until the evening, which will allow for temperatures to soar once again. We will keep the 72 high temperature, but wouldn't be surprised if some areas reach 75 or so.

There will be very little moisture with the front and dew point depressions will be large enough that the front will pass through dry.

Saturday will be much colder, by about 20 degrees, and with a strong west-northwest wind gusting to 40-50 mph which will really make it feel cold after the recent warmth.

Temperatures Saturday will struggle into the middle or upper 40s. Even with the large cool down, temperatures will be near normal which is 45 (or even slightly above).

High pressure briefly moves across the region Sunday which will bring us some sunshine, mainly early, until clouds begin the thicken up again later in the day as the next storm system approaches.

Precipitation should hold off until Sunday night when light rain will move into the area. We will have to watch how far south the cold front gets as this storm passes by on Monday as there will be a large temperature gradient across the front.  So there could be big temperature bust potential with this.

The second storm in the parade looks like it could bring us heavier precipitation Monday night into Tuesday.

This one will be worth keeping an eye on as cold air will be in place and there looks like there is the potential for snow out of this one.

High pressure and colder conditions follow this storm for the middle of the week. Until then, enjoy the warmth one last day!
