BLOG: Warm Sunday & Monday
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Not much has changed with regard to the forecast philosophy over the next several days. Warm advection will commence in earnest Sunday afternoon across the Ohio Valley, and with abundant Gulf moisture streaming northward this well lead to an expansive swath of rainfall by the evening.
Daytime temperatures Sunday will be in the upper 50s owing to the rising heights and warm advection.
Aided by a strong upper-level disturbance this push of moisture will stream across the Mid-Atlantic overnight along a warm front. Rain will break out in the evening timeframe and it will be fairly light at first, but by Monday things change as the warm front lifts northward and we end up in the warm sector. The mercury is expected to climb into the upper 60s for many with deeper moisture being transported northward as well. Heavier rain will move in during the afternoon and begin to diminish as we head into the evening, and for all but northeastern portions of the viewing area the rain will come to an end by 8 p.m. It sill looks like total rainfall amounts may exceed an inch, and flooding concerns persist to the north of the city.
We cool off for Tuesday but with a plethora of sunshine so it shouldn't be too bad. Wednesday will see a slight increase in clouds but also milder temperatures. The next cold front arrives Wednesday night and drops temperatures back into the 40s for Thursday as cool high pressure slides across the Northeast. Increasingly mild Friday and into the weekend with rain chances returning as early as Saturday.
Have a great day!
